Council of Europe. Chairmanship of the Committee of Ministers: Ukraine presents its priorities #

Ukraine will hold over on 11 May the chairmanship of the Committee of Ministers
of the Council of Europe for the next six months. Within the framework of its
Chairmanship, Ukraine will focus on the following priorities: protection
of children’s rights; human rights and the rule of law in the context of
democracy and stability in Europe; strengthening and developing the local democracy.

Poland holds the Presidency in the Council of the European Union #

Every six months different member states of the European Union hold the
Presidency presiding over the work of the Council of the European
Union. The state holding the Presidency becomes the host of most of the
Union's events and plays key role in all the fields of activity of the European Union.

From 1 July 2011, Poland will hold the Presidency in the Council of the European Union.
